Renova Scrap Solutions takes on the unglamorous but essential business of scrap recycling, and tries to do it responsibly: organising operations, introducing tech-enabled processing, and building environmentally sound recycling structures.

Scrap and waste recycling is one of the most fragmented, informal industries there is — which is precisely what makes it interesting. Renova is about applying systems thinking to it: clearer processes, tech-enabled tracking, and recycling structures that hold up to scrutiny.

It is the venture furthest from my IT roots, and that is the point. It shows the operator’s playbook — structure, technology, accountability — works in the physical economy too, while doing something that genuinely matters environmentally.
